August 17, 2020 Highway Trash Pick Up
The DMRVFD Volunteers and firemen started out the
morning with picking up trash on our section of highway
166. I had an amazing turn out of volunteers 15! Plus the
funny looking guy with Ray. Great cool morning. Easy to
social distance when you have 5 couples working together
and the other 5 filling in where I needed them. I will say it
was extra trashy this time. Edna
The beautiful black donkey with Ray is Barney. He is really a
gentle one and loves neck rubs. Maria

APRIL 6, 2019 ANNUAL TRASH PICK-UP
On Saturday 04/06/19, DMRVFD support team and firemen got together to participate in the “Don’t Mess with Texas” annual trash pick-up on our section of Highway
166, mile marker 179-181. Some of us met up at the fire station, the rest met up at the mailboxes. Thank you to everyone who came out to help. We had 11
Volunteers present. Support group members that volunteered were; Cathy Gossett, Vickie Conner, Maria and Willis LeJeune, Marvin Voiers, and Mariel Davis.
Representing the Fireman, Kenneth Gossett, Paul Conner, Charles Court, Donna Monroe, and Edna Queen. As always, we broke into two groups, one going east
and one going west. We had enough people that we had 2 people cleaning around the mailboxes. Willis found a small pry-bar in good shape. Some **##@@
dumped a propane grill on the side of the road. We moved it up to where our trash bags are normally left. Trash was very light, only one full bag after combining 11
bags together! Very few cigarette butts! I did post a small rant on the community Facebook page about the amount of cigarette butts that were pickup last time, so
maybe it worked? Our next pick up date will be June. Edna Queen - Fireman
